How We Deepen Retreat

  • Seasons: A Center for Renewal (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

How We Deepen is an experiment to deepen foundational spiritual activism in communities of color, by bringing together a group of people who are deeply walking on their spiritual path and serving their community through their spiritual practice and social justice work.  This series of two retreats and co-mentorship calls invite us to deepen in our own spirituality and our relationships across our identities. We believe that this process of deepening will lead to individual and collective transformation towards the good of us all.

We are a community of people of color of diverse spiritual communities, gender, age, location, abilities, and background.  People committed to generous and generative community building in their own communities.  People committed to their spiritual path and open to growing with others on theirs.

Freedom Road's Fall Ruby Woo Pilgrimage 2019

The #RubyWooPilgrimage is a sacred journey through the intersectional story of the struggle of women for equality in the U.S. This pilgrimage is being carefully curated to bring together a diverse group of women committed to journeying together.

Imagine boarding a bus with a diverse group of about 40 fabulous women to embark on a three-day journey through the intersectional struggle of women for electoral justice in the U.S.

Imagine walking on the land where women clasped hands in the past and took bold steps forward toward their own and each other’s freedom.

Imagine, at the half-way point in our journey—exactly one year from Election Day 2020,  a 1/2 day Women of Faith Summit. The Ruby Woo Pilgrimage will join women from across the country coming together to discern our common interests and values as we move toward Election 2020.

Imagine sharing your heart and listening to the hearts of other women; thriving, struggling, nurturing, challenging, facing down, standing up, holding on, and running forward.

Imagine walking through the halls of Congress in lock-step—red lips blazing—prepared to speak truth to power.

Applications are now closed. Find out about the next pilgrimage at https://freedomroad.us/what-we-do/freedom-road-pilgrimages/
