How We Can Start to Heal The Pain of Racial Divisions: Ruby Sales

One of our beloved mentors, Ruby Sales, released a TED Talk on healing racial divisions that has captured and stretched our imagination. Watch and be renewed, challenged, and inspired!

Where does it hurt?" It's a question that activist and educator Ruby Sales has traveled the US asking, looking deeply at the country's legacy of racism and searching for sources of healing. In this moving talk, she shares what she's learned, reflecting on her time as a freedom fighter in the civil rights movement and offering new thinking on pathways to racial justice.

This talk was presented at a TED Salon event given in partnership with Verizon. TED editors featured it among our selections on the home page. Read more about TED Salons.

Check out the first report from the Rooted in Resilience Mapping Project team, Rooted in Resilience: Mapping the expanding horizons where social justice, spiritual practice, and healing meet. Written by Carinne Luck and Rev. Jen Bailey, this report is a distillation of our learnings from the first year of the Rooted in Resilience Mapping Project. Over the course of nine months, we had the privilege to learn from organizers, faith leaders, and activists from around the United States about the multitude of spiritual practices and strategies they employ to integrate healing into their work.
