Middle Tennessee Movement Chaplaincy Cohort: Applications Live!

  • Scarritt Bennett Center 1008 19th Avenue South Nashville, TN, 37212 United States

In partnership with Auburn Seminary, we will offer a Nashville area movement chaplaincy cohort of 4-8 people who will serve as a pilot group exploring the idea of chaplaincy based in social justice movements (instead of the hospital, military, etc). Participants will complete a 300 hour program - 150 hours of fieldwork and 150 hours of small group theological reflection. Participants will earn a certificate of completion, have the potential of earning academic credit and will be led by program-wide and site-specific program objectives. The program will include 2-3 retreats held at Scarritt Bennett Center and will meet here on a regular basis. I will personally supervise the program with the support of Jen, Rabbi Justus Baird, the Dean of Auburn Seminary and the other supervisors. You can find out more about the Justice Movement Education (JME) program we are partnering with at Auburn for this pilot by visiting auburnseminary.org/jme
